Actor Simon Fisher-Becker, Known for ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Doctor Who,’ Dead at 63
Simon Fisher-Becker, the beloved British character actor, has passed away at the age of 63. He was known for his iconic roles in the Harry Potter franchise and Doctor Who.
Fisher-Becker’s husband, Tony Dugdale, confirmed the news of his death in a heartfelt Facebook post on Sunday. While Dugdale did not share details regarding the cause of death, the news has left fans and colleagues mourning his loss.
Kim Barry, Fisher-Becker’s agent at Jaffrey Management, also confirmed his death, sharing a tribute:
“I lost not only a client, Simon , but a close personal friend of 15 years standing,” Barry said. “He helped me out enormously and was always kind, gracious, and interested in everyone.”

Simon Fisher-Becker began his Hollywood career in the 1990s, making appearances on various TV shows, including Hale and Pace and One Foot in the Grave. However, it was his portrayal of a ghost in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone that catapulted him to fame. In this role, Fisher-Becker became a beloved part of the Harry Potter universe, haunting the halls of Hogwarts as a ghost.
Another standout role was his recurring character, Dorium, in the long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who, where he appeared between 2010 and 2011. Fisher-Becker’s work in the Doctor Who universe didn’t stop there, as he also voiced General Nylan in the 2014 Doctor Who Online Adventures series.
