Pope Francis Has Restful Night, Health Update
Pope Francis had a restful night at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, according to the Holy See Press Office. His condition remains critical but stable as he continues to receive treatment for bilateral pneumonia.
The statement released on Wednesday morning confirmed, “The Pope had a quiet night and is resting.” After waking up, the Pope sat in his armchair and continued his oxygen therapy, the same treatment he has been receiving in recent days.
Later in the evening, a medical update may include results from the pulmonary CT scan that was conducted on Tuesday. The update on Tuesday night mentioned that the Pope’s clinical condition was stable, with no acute respiratory episodes. It also confirmed that his hemodynamic parameters remained stable.
Since his hospitalization on February 14 for a case of bronchitis, Pope Francis has been receiving ongoing care for double pneumonia. The evening update on Tuesday mentioned mild renal insufficiency, which is reportedly under control.
In the morning, after receiving the Eucharist, the Pope resumed light work activities, continuing his routine despite his health challenges.
The Holy See Press Office continues to provide updates twice daily, keeping the faithful informed about the Pope’s condition.
